Need an Image?
Check out the ARTStor Digital Image Library. ARTStor is an online database of over one million art related images; contributed by museums, individual artists and collectors, arts organizations and more. Collections include photos of architecture, painting, photography, sculpture, decorative arts and design, as well as archeological and anthropological objects, and other objects of visual and material culture. Find images that inspire you, images to use for visual references, images for art historical research, and much more. The possibilities are endless.

Why use ARTStor?
  • Many images come from the collections of well known institutions such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Chicago Art Institute (to name just a couple!)
  • Images are of a high quality, and come from reputable, citable sources
  • High resolution digital files enable you to zoom in on details

  • View images offline with the downloadable Offline Image Viewer

  • The collection is constantly growing
Using ARTStor is simple: Enter the database through the link provided on the library's website. Your password and login name are your school email and student ID. Use the keyword or advanced search options to find specific images, or explore the collections using the browse option. Enjoy!
